Chris McLernon to lead global real estate services under Jay Hennick, Business News

TORONTO, April 25, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Colliers (NASDAQ and TSX: CIGI), a leading global professional services and investment management firm, today announced the appointment of Chris McLernon as Chief Executive Officer real estate services | Global. McLernon will be based at the company’s global headquarters in Toronto and will report to President and Global CEO Jay Hennick. Davoud Amel-Azizpour, currently CFO of EMEA, will succeed McLernon as CEO of EMEA. The two appointments, which take effect July 1, 2022, reinforce Colliers’ continued leadership in the industry and its commitment to accelerating the success of its people and customers.

McLernon will focus on overall growth, operational excellence and client relationships within Colliers’ fast-growing real estate services operations. He will directly oversee Colliers’ capital markets, leasing and outsourcing and advisory businesses globally, with a focus on accelerating growth, improving global collaboration and strengthening our unique culture and way of doing business.

McLernon brings extensive experience in growing the Colliers business and has been instrumental in building the Colliers brand into the leading global player it is today. Since joining the company in 1987, his entrepreneurial spirit has earned him increasingly senior positions, culminating in his role as CEO of EMEA.

“Chris’ appointment reflects the success of his long career at Colliers. Over the past 12 years as a leader in the EMEA region, Chris has been instrumental in growing the region from $30 million to over $700 million in revenue while delivering exceptional client results, creating an excellent culture for our professionals and fostering operational excellence. With Chris’ experience, commitment and track record as a leader, we are even better positioned to deliver on our ambitious 2025 growth plan,” said Hennick.

Amel-Azizpour has extensive real estate experience, having worked closely with McLernon for the past nine years at Colliers, most recently as Chief Financial Officer for EMEA. Amel-Azizpour is a trusted partner within the broader regional leadership team, with both in-depth knowledge of EMEA operations and a strategic vision to advance Colliers’ position.

“Dav’s well-established reputation, deep understanding of our EMEA business and embodiment of the unique Colliers culture make him a natural candidate to succeed Chris. I am confident that he will excel in his new role and continue to drive growth and profitability across our EMEA businesses during this dynamic time,” Hennick continued. “Both Chris and Dav are strategic and results-oriented leaders whose contributions to Colliers over many years make them ideal candidates to fill their new roles. I am extremely proud of both and excited to see them continue to enhance the scale and reputation of our business in the years to come,” he concluded.
